The Best Toy You And Your Dog Will Ever Own
I recently found this cool new toy called tether tug and since we are a family that has a total of 7 dogs between us, it turned out to be so much fun, not only for our dogs but for all of us! I don’t think we have ever found anything our dogs like more as they do the Tether Tug toy and we so enjoy watching them play for hours with it.
Here’s a little background about the company.
We are a small company in the southwest corner of Missouri. The office is filled with animal lovers (to be exact, we all have 9 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, some sort of lizard thing, and 4 horses!) that all wanted to find a way to help their dogs play more often and for longer periods of time than our arms can last.
Each tug is handmade, every phone call and email is answered in our walls by our staff, and we want to make sure that your dog loves our toy. We don’t want to be the biggest dog toy company in the USA, but we are working really hard to be the best.
The Tether Tug was invented by a father-son duo Roger and Adam Huckfeldtand inspired by a three-legged rescue dog, Lizzy. Adam Huckfeldt rescued Lizzy when she was just weeks old. She had been abused and unfortunately her leg could not be saved. With lots of love and determination Lizzy made a full recovery and is now a playful, happy dog.
Like most dogs, one of the Lizzys favorite games to play was tug-of-war and keep away with her braided rope toy. In an attempt to provide quality exercise, and to keep play time from becoming mundane, Adam started experimenting with different ways to engage Lizzy in healthy play and exercise with her favorite braided rope toy. The problem, as with most dogs and their owners, was that Lizzys deep reservoir of energy caused her owner to wear out long before she did; clearly a better solution was needed. Being an avid fisherman, Adam came up with the perfect solution to his dilemma. Rummaging through his garage, Adam assembled a rough prototype of his idea using, among other items, an old broken fishing pole. To his great delight, Lizzy absolutely loved her new toy. However, she played so much that his crude prototype broke, leaving Adam with the realization that a stronger toy was needed to provide Lizzy with quality play and exercise. Thus Adam enveloped himself in redesigning his toy. After exhausting research and mediation, Adam took his redesigned toy to someone with great intelligence and the means to develop his concept into the perfect toy for every dog.
With the help of his dad, Roger Huckfeldt, who happens to own aproduct development company that specializes in inventing, manufacturing and commercializing products, the Tether Tug was born!
